The city of Lorca has a wide and varied commercial net that allows us to acquire all kind of articles. You can find small and medium traditional and singular establishments, specialized in feeding, textile, leisure and culture that coexist with the shopping centres.
Among the articles that you can acquire, it is necessary to highlight the handicrafts such as ‘jarapas’, tapestries and pottery such as ‘jarra de novia’ or girlfriend's jar. All these artisan articles and further more can be acquired in the Handicraft Centre located in Lope Gisbert street.
As far as the gastronomy is concerned, you cannot leave Lorca without having bought a good ‘morcón’, white or red sausage, sausages, cheese, olives ‘partías’, ‘crespillos’, that is a fine mass of flour, salt and paprika, ‘picardías’ or caramel balls of almond, ‘chochos’ or balls covered with anisette and sugar with a hazelnut in the interior, and salted fishes.
Besides these establishments, Lorca has a municipal market where fruits and vegetables, fish, meat and sausages are sold. It is located near RENFE, the train station, and the bus station. And, on Thursdays, you can get to the Fair Enclosure of Santa Quiteria, where you can find the sale of products from the orchard as well as clothes, footwear, equipment for the home and so on.

The commercial areas
Our historical centre deals with the ‘Centro Comercial Abierto'. It is a great business centre to open sky whose main objective has been to revitalize and to energize the urban centre. There, you can find all type of products such as some sausages, some cheeses, pastry shops, libraries, clothes and handicrafts.
This historical centre constitutes a space for trades, services, leisure, culture and tourism. It has also a wide pedestrian area that allows us to go for a walk with all comfort.
