The history of Lorca has always being conditioned by the geography of the valley of the Guadalentín, being an important natural route in the passing from the Levant to Andalusia. That justifies the historical importance of Lorca having settings for more than 5.500 years.

Important cultures have been established and developed in this territory during centuries. Lorca has been the point of encounter, mixture and fusion of groups, races and different cultures. As a consequence of this, we have a cultural heritage with an historical and artistic immeasurable patrimony.
