Where the lorquian handicraft can be found

The Handicraft Centre is located in a modern building in Lope Gisbert Street, next to the palace of Guevara. It is a centre of exhibition and permanent promotion of the artisan products of the Region of Murcia.
You can buy not only the traditional artisans products but also the new ones realized under the traditional inspiration, so much of Lorca as of the rest of the Region of Murcia such as pottery, figures of the nativity, pottery, leather goods, esparto articles, carvings, imitation jewellery, wrought iron, toys made of cardboard stone, bookbinding, sculptures, carpets, embroideries, ‘jarapas’, glass and other many artisans products.

The Handicraft Fair of the Region of Murcia or FERAMUR is the most important artisan contest in the region. It is the meeting point where the national and international artisans meet every year to establish business dealings, to know new production technologies and to exhibit their products.
The contest takes place in the fair enclosure of Santa Quiteria in Lorca, at the end of the month of September, coinciding with the festivities of the city. During the celebration of this fair, you can find a representation of all the sectors dealing with feeding, textile, pottery, leather goods, metal or jewels.

The Handicraft Market of Holy Week is located in Calderon’s square and Doctor Arcas Meca Street, next to the environment where the biblical-passionate parades are developed.
This market has a great vitality and there, you can acquire all kinds of artisan products such as leather, ceramic, wood, textile, pieces of jewellery, imitation jewellery and so on.
